Wholesale funding undertaken in the name of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, ANZ National Bank Limited and ANZ National (Int'l) Limited is managed and coordinated centrally by the Global Funding unit within Group Treasury. Group Treasury is headquartered in Melbourne, with representation in London and Wellington.

The principal tenets pursued in meeting the funding challenges for the Group are that of diversification and responsiveness, whilst maintaining acceptable and prudent maturity profiles for the respective portfolios. These objectives are achieved via long established and flexible funding programmes issuing commercial paper, certificates of deposit, through to medium term notes featuring either senior or subordinated debt status, and combined with dedicated dealer panels providing the Bank with the ability to reach the broadest investor base possible.

Securitisation is accomplished through a separate vehicle, Kingfisher. Kingfisher intends to be a regular, but not necessarily frequent, issuer into the domestic and global markets.
